Composting

Today I just checked my worm bin and I am starting to get lots of beautiful black vermicompost. I also noticed a tonne of worm eggs which is really exciting because the young worms will eat more and at a faster rate than their parents. I keep the bin inside because it is still too cold for my red wrigglers but the great thing is that there is no smell from the rotting food. In a couple more weeks I can start harvesting the compost and then add it to my plants. I love knowing that I am able to reuse my kitchen scraps and have less garbage to fill the landfills.
