I've been reading some of my older entries, ones that I wrote while Jonathan and I were living in Thunder Bay and originally I started this blog as a record of my world for the benefit of my family that lived oh so far away. But it was also an opportunity to record special memories, an online journal with pictures and video.
I have been lazy on the journaling part so here it goes....
Last Monday I went early in the morning to workout with some friends from church, that evening I worked at the hospital from 3-11pm. Early the next morning I went down to Lethbridge with my photography buddy and 1st counsellor Cristin. We attended a workshop at Dejourdan's by Kathy Walker and Jen Alston, two very talented photographers.
After spending the night at Jen's house and chatting till one in the morning we headed down to Cardston where I got a quick visit with some of me dearest friends. Unfortunately, it was so spur of the moment and I was suffering from an awful cold, with those two combined, and their unexpected guests, I easily got confused and my blond roots showed a little too much as I forgot names and faces. Super embarrassed as I have grown up with these people and they are practically family.
It was then home again to be sick in bed, counter-tops were installed and the next day we had a crazy amount of rain soaking everything in sight and flooding my garden. Water was pooling in our basement because the down spouts were up, so some wheat from my food storage got wet.
Also the eavestrough was broken creating the perfect pond beside our house. I was worried about the basement flooding so I spend the day frantically digging and redirecting the water. Then I bailed out the water like I was in a sinking dory. I bailed out about 13 gallons of water, very muddy water. It was incredible that we had that much water pool in only a couple days.
It is sunday today. I am still a bit sick but feeling much better. The rain continues to drown all in sight.
